More exam options for hygienists

Arizona dental hygienists can qualify for a local anesthesia certificate by completing an accredited course and a U.S. state or regional exam. The course must include classroom and clinical training in block and infiltration techniques. The board issues the certificate after receiving proof of both requirements.

Dental board hearings without prior interviews

After an investigation or review finds enough information to consider suspending or revoking a dental license, the board can order a formal hearing. It does not need to hold a formal interview first. After the hearing, the board can dismiss the complaint or take other allowed action.
