Families protected from poverty-based child neglect charges

Arizona law protects parents, guardians, and custodians from child abuse or neglect findings or charges based solely on poverty. The protection covers an inability to provide supervision, food, clothing, shelter, or medical care. It applies only when that inability is due solely to a lack of available financial resources.
