New health plan rules for districts

Arizona school districts with at least 300 employees must get quotes at least once every four years for certain health or disability plans and services. Supporting entities must provide de-identified high-claims and eligibility reports at least 60 days before the benefit year ends. The claims report covers people whose claims exceeded $50,000 in any of the prior four calendar years or are expected to exceed $50,000 this year. Districts in a qualifying nonprofit health care pool are exempt from these quote and reporting rules; the pool must offer at least two network options and have a nonprofit administrator.
