Less roadside-test access to diesel repair aid
Diesel vehicles rated over 8,500 pounds can qualify for repair help if they are in Arizona’s emissions program and fail its required emissions test. The program pays up to half of eligible repair costs, capped at $1,000 per vehicle. A failed random roadside test alone no longer qualifies. Fleet owners can receive no more than $10,000 total.
Repair program adds notices and limits
Arizona agencies must send vehicle owners a short notice about the voluntary repair program with registration forms or emissions test results. The program covers repairs, not retrofit work. Owners accepted into the program must finish repairs within 60 days. The environmental agency no longer has to run the program in cooperation with the county.
