Arizona’s State Natural Resource Conservation Board must define connected geographic areas for board representation. It must prioritize major land resources, crop types, and other shared land features when drawing these areas. This changes how communities are grouped for representation, not household payments.
The law raises the annual grant limit from $5,000 to $10,000 per natural resource conservation district with an established education center. The state conservation board distributes the grants, subject to funding approved by the legislature. Programs must be balanced, use current scientific information, and discuss economic and social effects. The money goes to districts, not directly to households.
