Bill Overview

Analyzed Economic Effects

2 provisions identified: 2 benefits, 0 costs, 0 mixed.

Full property tax relief for disabled veterans

Veterans with a 100% service-connected disability rating can get a full property tax exemption on their primary home. A home jointly owned with a spouse qualifies. A surviving spouse can keep claiming the exemption on their own primary home if they do not remarry.

Disability letters support property tax claims

Applicants can use a written disability decision letter from the Social Security Administration to document disability for a property tax exemption. The letter alone does not qualify someone for an exemption.
