More support for students with disabilities

Arizona school districts and charter schools must involve certified special education staff in planning and tracking specially designed instruction delivered by general education teachers or other certified staff. Special education staff also help deliver the instruction when appropriate. For a student who needs special education because of a specific learning disability, the individualized education program (IEP) must state whether the student has a dyslexia diagnosis. This records diagnosis status but does not create a diagnosis or change service eligibility.
