Higher fees on covered court penalties

The law raises the assessment from $2 to $4 for each covered fine, penalty, or forfeiture that a court imposes and collects. It applies to criminal offenses, civil traffic violations, motor vehicle violations, local ordinances about stopping, standing, or vehicle operation, and violations of state game and fish laws. The $4 assessment is added to any other assessment. Courts and local treasurers send the money to the state treasurer for Arizona's victims' rights enforcement fund.
