More career courses through universities

Career-tech districts can arrange for a state university to provide a course when the course is not covered by an existing agreement and the local community college cannot offer it next school year. The district must notify the college by November 1. If the college reports within 30 days that it cannot offer the course, or does not respond within 30 days, the district can proceed. The Arizona Board of Regents can approve these agreements when it finds they serve Arizona’s interests, and the agreements must be in writing with clear terms for costs, services, instruction, and transportation. Qualifying university or community college career-course credits count toward school funding at 0.25 average daily membership per three credits, subject to a combined cap of 1.75 and a limit of 1.0 for either the school district or career-tech district.
