Drivers pay $25 for youth charity plates

Drivers pay $25 for each original youth charity plate and each renewal. Of that amount, $8 goes to the State Highway Fund and $17 goes to a youth charity fund. A person who pays $32,000 to set up the program by December 31, 2025, is repaid from the first $32,000 deposited in the fund. Each year, the director gives the remaining money to a qualifying Arizona charity that helps young people overcome adversity and awards grants to programs and nonprofits. Fund costs can use up to 10% of annual deposits. The state must approve the plate design, and personalized plate fees also apply when requests are combined.
