More alcohol licenses for San Luis Obispo restaurants

The Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control can issue up to 10 new on-sale general licenses for bona fide public eating places in San Luis Obispo County. No more than five may be issued in a single year. Restaurants that hold a valid seasonal on-sale general license can also apply for one of these original licenses.

Tighter limits on license transfers and resale

Licenses issued under this law cannot be moved to another county or to a place that does not qualify. You cannot sell or transfer a license for more than the original fee you paid. The department must use the existing Section 23961 process to issue these licenses. It may label them as special-use, but that label does not change any rights or limits.
