New termination rules for part-time faculty

Community college districts can end a temporary job at the end of a day or a week. Courts can review only when the termination happened, not why. Part-time faculty have no promise of future work; assignments depend on enrollment, funding, and program changes. If a union contract covers you, the district must follow its termination steps.

State repayment for mandated local costs

If the Commission on State Mandates finds this law creates costs for local agencies or school districts, the state reimburses them. Payments follow existing Government Code rules.
