Easier waste rules for crop preparation businesses

Agricultural crop preparation businesses are exempt from certain state organic waste rules in Article 10. To qualify, a business must show the department, in the form it sets, that it has not sent organic waste to a landfill on or after January 1, 2016. This includes culls, fruit skins, hulls, leaves, seed pits, shells, and sticks. The exemption applies only to businesses that meet the state’s definition of an agricultural crop preparation service.
