If you are an elected state officer and take office in December or January, you file the annual statement instead of the initial assuming‑office statement. For investments and real property, report from the date you filed your declaration of candidacy. For income, report the 12 months before you assumed office.
The law defines an “arrangement for prospective employment” as an accepted job offer, whether verbal or written. People in offices listed in Section 87200 must report any such job offer on their assuming‑office, annual (on the FPPC’s schedule), and leaving‑office statements. File within 30 days of assuming or leaving office; if appointed or nominated and subject to Senate or Judicial Commission confirmation, file within 10 days of the appointment or nomination. Each job‑offer report must state when you accepted, the position, a short description of the employer’s business, and the employer’s name and street address. You do not need a new assuming‑office filing if you filed the same type of statement for the same jurisdiction within the prior 60 days.
