Judges must consider human trafficking evidence in custody and visitation cases. The law requires them to weigh any relevant, admissible proof that a parent caused trafficking. This includes trafficking of the child or of the other parent. This happens as part of deciding the child's best interests. The law does not create a new presumption or change the proof standard.
