Livestock owners must have a licensed veterinarian order any medically important antibiotics. The order is a prescription or a veterinary feed directive. The vet must have a valid veterinarian-client-patient relationship under California law, and extra-label uses must meet federal rules. Expect more vet contact and record-keeping before using these drugs.
Enforcing officers can enter and inspect places or vehicles tied to a certified mobile farmers' market. They can review records, products, containers, and equipment, and take samples for testing. They can seize products as evidence when they know or reasonably believe rules were broken, and that evidence can be used in other counties. Market operators may also require vendors to give extra information to sell and keep extra records. This improves buyer safety but adds checks, paperwork, and legal risk for vendors.
The state keeps the Vertebrate Pest Control research program in place until January 1, 2035. The research account and the secretary's spending authority continue through that date. On January 1, 2035, this article is repealed unless later extended. The law does not name replacement rules.
