Money transmitters must post complaint notice

Money transmitters and their agents must post a DFPI complaint notice at each branch that sends money. The notice must list 1-866-275-2677, consumer.services@dfpi.ca.gov, and DFPI Consumer Services, 651 Bannon Street, Suite 300, Sacramento, CA 95811. It must be in English and the main language the branch uses to advertise, solicit, or negotiate money transfers. Letters must be at least one-half inch high, and the notice must be in clear public view. Licensees must give the notice to each agent, and agents are responsible for posting at agent-run locations. The DFPI commissioner can change the notice content and approve an online version for websites and apps.

Deferred Deposit reporting rule removed

The law repeals California Financial Code Section 23057. This removes a reporting requirement tied to the Deferred Deposit Transaction Law.
