California military council continues to 2031

The law keeps the Governor’s Military Council in state government under the Military Department. Members are appointed by the Governor. The council must include bipartisan members from the Senate and Assembly. Senate members are nominated by the Senate Rules Committee; Assembly members are nominated by the Assembly Speaker. The council advises the Governor on keeping military bases and operations in California. The section stays in effect until January 1, 2031, unless the Legislature extends it. The law does not add new funding.
