Immunity for seizure rescue, except at schools

The law protects unlicensed people who give anti-seizure rescue medicine at an emergency scene. You are not subject to professional review, civil lawsuits, or criminal charges. This applies only if you act in good faith, are not paid, and the person is having or suspected of a seizure. You are not protected for gross negligence or willful or wanton misconduct. This shield does not apply when giving the medicine to a student on a school site. School-site care must follow Education Code Article 4.6 (starting at Section 49468).
