Reimbursement for state-mandated campus costs

If the Commission on State Mandates decides this law creates state-mandated costs, local agencies and school districts get reimbursed. Payments follow existing Government Code rules for state-mandated reimbursements. Reimbursement happens only after the Commission makes that finding.

Organ donor info for new college students

The law requires every CSU campus and each California Community College to give all incoming students information about Donate Life California and the organ and tissue donor registry. UC campuses are asked, but not required, to do the same. Campuses can choose how to share it, such as during orientation, by text message, at health centers, on the website, in newsletters, webinars, events, or when handling student health forms. Donate Life California provides the written or electronic materials and works with campuses on an ongoing basis.
