Motion declarations must address court reporters

In California civil cases, a meet-and-confer declaration filed with a motion must do two things. It must show a reasonable, good-faith effort to resolve each issue. It must also state whether the parties met and conferred about hiring a certified shorthand reporter to report the hearing, including by electronic communication. This requirement does not prevent any party from hiring a reporter.
