California’s land reuse and cleanup law stays in effect until January 1, 2037. It is repealed on that date unless the Legislature extends or removes the repeal before then. If you qualified for legal immunity under that law by December 31, 2036, you keep it after January 1, 2037. You must keep following the former law, including all approved cleanup response plans, and all other applicable laws. These continuation rules take effect January 1, 2037.
