No Class 3 e-bike sales to under 16

Sellers in California cannot sell a Class 3 electric bicycle to anyone under 16. A Class 3 e-bike is the higher-speed type that assists pedaling up to about 28 mph. Each illegal sale is an infraction. Courts can fine the seller up to $250 for each unlawful sale. Families should know that minors cannot legally buy these e-bikes from California sellers.
