The law repeals California’s End of Life Option Act. Patients can no longer use that law to get life-ending medication from a doctor. Doctors and health systems no longer follow its procedures and safeguards. Crimes and penalties that existed only under that act are also removed. Local governments do not receive state reimbursement for any costs from this change.
