License exemption for mural artists

Mural artists do not need a contractor license for mural work done under an agreement with someone who can legally authorize it. The work must be a unique fine art piece with copyright, trademark, label, or patent protection. It must be painted by hand directly on a building’s walls or ceilings, fixtures, or other attached parts. Painted wall signs do not count. This reduces licensing steps and costs for qualifying muralists.
