The law pauses violation findings for hexavalent chromium when a public water system follows a board‑approved plan or has a plan under review. The system must still meet the total chromium limit. The pause does not apply if the state board rejects the plan. This rule covers only hexavalent chromium and does not change how other drinking water standards are set. The State Water Resources Control Board and the Attorney General still enforce all applicable laws, including any approved plan.
