FAIR Plan covers manufactured and mobile homes

The California FAIR Plan now treats manufactured homes and mobilehomes like other homes. You can buy basic property insurance for a manufactured or mobile home at a fixed location. Coverage is available only in areas the Insurance Commissioner designates. Basic coverage includes fire, extended perils, and vandalism or malicious mischief. It does not cover cars, farm animals or crops, or farm equipment.

Standard earthquake coverage for FAIR Plan

If your FAIR Plan policy includes earthquake coverage, the Plan must use the state’s standard earthquake policy. Existing policies with earthquake coverage are renewed with that standard coverage. The Plan must also send the required notice to policyholders.
