Layoff notices must say whether the employer will set up rapid response services, use another group, or not coordinate services. The notice must list a working email and phone for the local workforce board and explain the quick‑help services at America’s Job Center of California, like resume help, interview practice, job search, and training info. If the employer chooses to coordinate services, they must arrange them within 30 days of the notice. The notice must include a working employer email and phone. It must also describe CalFresh, list the CalFresh helpline, and give the website link.
Covered employers must give 60 days’ written notice before a mass layoff, relocation, or closure. They must send it to affected workers, the Employment Development Department, the local workforce board, and the chief elected official of each affected city and county. The notice must include the same key details federal law requires. In a physical calamity or act of war, the 60‑day notice is not required.
