Bill Overview

Analyzed Economic Effects

2 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 0 costs, 1 mixed.

Treatment centers must post license status

Licensed alcohol or drug treatment facilities and certified programs must put a clear notice on their websites and intake forms. The notice tells you to check the state’s website to see probation, temporary suspension, revocation, or operation-in-violation notices. It must include a direct link to the state’s public list. The Department of Health Care Services can penalize providers who do not post this notice under Section 11831.7.

State posts treatment violations online

The Department of Health Care Services posts a short summary for each violation it issues to listed treatment facilities and programs. You can reach these summaries from a clearly labeled link on the department’s homepage. Each summary names who was cited, the rule, the reason, and the date. The webpage also states that notices to recovery residences for violating Section 11834.30 are not on the list. The department must protect privacy and may not post information that breaks state or federal privacy laws.
