Rural microgrid grants continue without expiration

Colorado removes the September 1, 2026, expiration date for its Microgrids for Community Resilience Grant Program. Electric cooperatives and city-owned utilities can continue receiving grants to buy microgrid resources for eligible rural communities they serve. The program now has no scheduled end date, and the law specifies no new funding or grant amounts. The Division of Local Government must report by December 1 each year on grants awarded during the previous 12 months.
