Colorado extends oversight of dialysis care providers

Colorado keeps state health department oversight of dialysis clinics and hemodialysis technicians for 11 more years. The law moves the scheduled repeal from September 1, 2026, to September 1, 2037, with review before repeal. It adds no new program requirements, funding, or fee changes. It takes effect at 12:01 a.m. the day after the 90-day period following the 2026 legislative session’s final adjournment. That date is August 12, 2026, if the session ends May 13, 2026. A referendum petition filed within that period delays the challenged law or part until voters approve it in November 2026. If approved, it takes effect when the Governor officially declares the vote.
