History Colorado mineral sales fund museum upgrades

Effective immediately, History Colorado can sell specified mineral rights and nonparticipating royalty interests. Covered properties include Section 28, Township 4 North, Range 68 West, 6th Principal Meridian, in Weld County, Colorado. They also include the West Virginia property formerly associated with St. Elizabeth’s Retreat Chapel. The State Controller must approve every agreement before closing, and History Colorado must update the Capital Development Committee. Proceeds must go into the State Museum Cash Fund for building improvements, including upgrades to the collections care facility and maintenance. The law sets no sale deadline or dollar amount.
