Schools cannot share your personal health, billing, or precise location data with another state that wants to punish a lawful health-care action. They must still share if federal law requires it or a valid Colorado court order says so.
Beginning August 1, 2027, colleges that run a student health center must offer abortion medication to enrolled students. If the campus has a pharmacy or drug outlet, it must keep the medicine in stock and provide it on campus. The pickup spot can be the campus pharmacy, the health center, or another usual campus location. If there is no campus pharmacy, the health center must send a prescription to an off-campus pharmacy or dispense on-site if its license allows. Care follows generally accepted medical standards. Students can still choose to use an off-campus pharmacy or an outside provider.
The law does not require any school to break federal law, FDA rules, or a valid court order. A school does not have to stock or provide abortion medicine if doing so conflicts with its sincere religious beliefs, would violate federal law, jeopardize federal grants, or force it to change normal billing. The law does not change medical standards and lets providers make referrals based on their clinical judgment. These limits protect institutions but may reduce on-campus access for some students.
Professional liability insurers cannot cancel, refuse to renew, or raise a school's premiums because the school follows this law. This protects schools that provide on-campus abortion care.
