Colorado moves school meal money to education

On July 1, 2026, Colorado's treasurer transfers about $31.07 million from the school meals fund to the State Education Fund. The money comes from the Healthy School Meals for All Program Cash Fund. The one-time transfer rule ends July 1, 2027. This transfer does not change meal eligibility or benefits, and the law does not specify how the receiving fund uses this money.
