Less state money for Colorado assessments

The law cuts State Education Fund money for Colorado's statewide assessment program by $302,835 for budget year 2026–27. The cut requires that year's annual budget act to become law. No cut is required if that act leaves out the appropriation or provides less than $302,835. The cut takes effect on the later effective date of this law or that budget act.

Social studies tests limited to seventh-graders

Colorado must give the state social studies test only to seventh-grade students in public schools statewide. Other grades are no longer covered by this testing requirement. The law ends testing through a yearly sample of schools and optional testing outside that sample. State tests in English language arts, math, and science continue.
