Science teacher training cuts with temporary funding

The law ends Colorado’s science teacher professional development program on July 1, 2027. It cuts the Department of Education’s 2024-25 funding from the state education fund from $3 million to $1.5 million. Money from that budget year left unspent before July 1, 2025, remains available in 2026-27. That money can support the same training purpose without another appropriation. At the end of 2026-27, money still unspent or uncommitted returns to the state education fund.
