Colorado homeowners lose wildfire home grants

Beginning July 1, 2026, the law ends Colorado's Wildfire Resilient Homes Grant Program. Homeowners lose access to this program's grants to make their homes more resistant to wildfires. On June 30, 2026, the State Treasurer transfers the grant fund's remaining unspent and uncommitted money to the General Fund. The law gives no transfer amount and does not specify how that money is used.
