Wider access to farm land loans

Beginning Aug. 12, 2026, more groups can use the Colorado Agricultural Future Loan Program. An eligible entity is either certified by the Division of Conservation or is a water or irrigation district or a ditch and reservoir company, and in all cases must have a commissioner‑approved support letter from a Division of Conservation–certified entity. The program must prioritize loans that buy and conserve productive farm land and then transfer it to a qualifying farmer or rancher. The department must confirm each applicant meets the program’s eligible business, entity, or farmer rules before approval. Loan dollars can be used for listed purposes and any other uses the commissioner allows by rule.
