Corporations face limits on certain tax credits

For income years starting January 1, 2024, or later, Connecticut caps three specified corporate business tax credits. Together, credits under sections 12-217j, 12-217n, and 12-217x(b)(4)(B) cannot exceed 70% of tax due before credits. This limit applies after credits are applied under subdivision (2). Corporations claiming these credits face a limit on how much they can reduce their tax bills.

Retail tobacco sellers must renew dealer licenses

Beginning October 1, 2025, Connecticut retailers selling or planning to sell taxed tobacco products must obtain a dealer’s license. The Department of Revenue Services issues the license, which must be renewed each year. Applicants must meet section 12-287(b)'s requirements before receiving their first license. This provision does not specify a license fee.
