Lower course costs for high-need students

Starting with the fiscal year ending June 30, 2027, the Commissioner of Education must establish a fee-waiver grant program, subject to available appropriations. School boards and colleges can apply for reimbursement of fees for high-need students taking advanced courses, including dual-enrollment courses. A college that receives a grant for a course cannot charge parents the enrollment cost for that course. The law sets no grant amount.
