You count as a public transit employee if you work for a mass transit system that DC owns or subsidizes. Public transit employees are now eligible for the District’s Government Employer‑Assisted Housing program. You can apply for home purchase help through that program if you meet this definition. The law does not set the dollar amount of assistance.
