More flexible DC license and ID renewals

The law lets the DMV Director waive some driver license or ID renewal steps for good cause. You must show good cause in the way the Department sets. The Mayor can set how long a DC driver’s license lasts by making rules, instead of only a fixed 8 years. That can mean renewing more often or less often, and paying renewal fees more or fewer times. This emergency law is in effect for up to 90 days.
