Special education for incarcerated young adults

The Department of Corrections must provide free special education to eligible people with disabilities in its custody. You qualify if you are detained in a secure DOC facility, are 18 or older, and still eligible under federal and District special-education law. This applies during the 2024-2025 school year. It starts on 2025-04-12 and ends on 2025-11-23. The law does not set any payment amounts.
