Visiting team medical staff can practice

You can provide care in D.C. without a D.C. license if you are licensed, registered, or certified in good standing in another country. This applies only when you are with a visiting athletic team competing in an organized sporting event. You may treat the team’s athletes, support staff, and coaches. Care is limited to the team basecamp, lodging, training sites, and match sites in D.C. The exemption lasts up to 30 consecutive days. You may not work at any D.C. clinic or other healthcare facility.

Law lasts 225 days after start

The law takes effect after Mayor approval or a Council veto override, and after a 30-day congressional review. It expires 225 days after it takes effect.
