3 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 0 costs, 2 mixed.

New location rules for medical cannabis retailers

Medical cannabis retailers and internet retailers cannot locate in a residential district. They also cannot be within 400 feet of a preschool, K–12 school, or recreation center. If you applied before December 17, 2024, a 300‑foot buffer applies instead. If you applied during the 90‑day open period as an unlicensed establishment, you may be within 300 feet when the school or rec center’s main entrance sits on ground zoned commercial or industrial.

Streatery endorsements extended; 2025 fee deadlines

Streatery endorsements run through December 31, 2025. The 2025 fee is due by April 1, 2025. On‑premises retailer classes C/T, D/T, C/N, and D/N, and manufacturer class B must pay by September 30, 2025. The law also repeals the 2024 temporary act (effective March 7, 2025); this act now controls 2025 endorsements.

Temporary law start and end dates

The law takes effect after mayoral approval and a 30‑day congressional review. It expires 225 days after it takes effect.
