The Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development can give a grant in Fiscal Year 2025 or 2026 to the African American Civil War Memorial Freedom Foundation, Inc. The grant must be used to redevelop the African American Civil War Museum at 1925 Vermont Avenue NW. This authority applies even if normal rules under the Grant Administration Act of 2013 would limit it. The act is an emergency measure and lasts up to 90 days after approval. The law does not set a dollar amount.
