Automatic 3-year medical cannabis license for some

Beginning June 28, 2025, if your one-year conditional license was in effect on December 17, 2024 and already converted to a two-year license, it now converts to a three-year license automatically. The three-year license expires two years after the date the original conditional license was set to expire. There is no extra cost and no added ABC Board approval. The Act expires 225 days after it takes effect (February 8, 2026).

Longer time for DC medical cannabis licenses

Beginning June 28, 2025, DC conditional medical cannabis licenses can last up to 3 years. Deadlines to meet ABC Board approval conditions now run to the end of the license term. The rules apply to any conditional license under subsection (l), not just one-year licenses. The Act expires 225 days after it takes effect (February 8, 2026).
