The law exempts apartments that receive D.C. Low-Income Housing Tax Credits from rent stabilization. Housing providers of these units set rents without rent-stabilization caps. Tenants in these units do not get rent-stabilization protections. This applies in D.C. and is retroactive to July 17, 1985.
