Temporary property tax break for Food and Friends

Beginning October 1, 2025, 219 Riggs Road NE (Lot 0005, Square 3766) gets a District property tax exemption. The exemption covers 97% of the land and any improvements; 3% stays taxable. The property must be owned by Food & Friends, Inc. It only applies while Food & Friends, or any lessee, uses the site for charitable food distribution or related services. This relief is on top of any other tax help they get. The law is temporary and ends 225 days after it takes effect.
