Property tax debt relief for Avanti

The law lets the Chief Financial Officer forgive up to $377,000 in real property taxes, interest, penalties, fees, and related charges for Lot 123, Square 2836 (3421 14th Street NW). This applies in Fiscal Year 2026 and only covers amounts assessed as of September 3, 2025. The property must be owned and occupied by Avanti Real Estate Services, LLC and used for real estate and brokerage services that promote generational homeownership, employ District residents, and provide education and training for real estate careers. Any tax sale held to collect those forgiven delinquencies is cancelled under D.C. law. The Act takes effect after mayoral approval and a 30-day congressional review and expires 225 days after it takes effect.
